Atelier Valerie Hayes Upholstery

I founded Atelier Valerie Hayes after training in upholstery at London Metropolitan University and qualifying with the British School of Upholstered Furniture (BSUF). 

Based in West London, I specialise in the bespoke restoration and reupholstery of traditional and contemporary furniture.

Every piece I work on has a story. Whether it's a much-loved family heirloom, an antique in need of careful restoration or a contemporary piece ready for a new chapter, I enjoy uncovering its character and working closely with clients to create something both beautiful and enduring.

My approach is rooted in craftsmanship, honesty and collaboration. I take time to understand how a piece will be used, guide clients through fabric and design choices, and communicate openly throughout every stage of the project. Clients often comment on the care, attention to detail and thoughtful service they receive, as well as the quality of the finished work.

Alongside my studio practice, I am the author of The Upholstery Pricing Guide, a practical resource created to help upholsterers price their work with clarity, confidence and consistency. 

My aim is simple: to create beautiful, lasting furniture and contribute positively to the future of our craft.
