The school was founded by myself, Tony Carn, in 2016. With over 35 years of experience in the high-end upholstery business, initially, the school started off as a bit of fun teaching upholstery to a few interested ladies and gents at my workshop after work. Word soon got around and I found I could no longer manage teaching from my existing workshop and began the search for new premises for the sole purpose of an Upholstery School.
Whilst enjoying breakfast at The Holy Cow Cafe, Manor Farm, I spotted an empty unit and immediately went to find the owner. Within a few short months, we were in and the South West Upholstery School was born!
Along with the help of Jo, who looks after the admin side, we have happily been welcoming many students and had lots of fun in the process.
