School of Upholstery welcomes you to their new premises just outside the medieval market town of Faversham, Kent. The newly acquired premises are located in Oare, just a couple of miles from Faversham town centre.

Alex Law is a pioneering Upholsterer who has been teaching design lead upholstery since 2004 and has developed a unique way of communicating techniques of the craft. His worldwide book sales stand as a testament to the combination of techniques he has collected during 26 years of upholstering and tutoring.

These qualifications bring together both traditional and modern materials and techniques used within the furniture and furnishings sector.  Defined projects, together with workshop practice and the use of materials and technology, will introduce the students to the core principles and practices of the sector with clearly defined pathways, but students will be able to explore personal areas of interest through individual choices within the projects structure.

Alex firmly believes in individuals feeling empowered through making and connecting with history and laying down a foundation for the future that is not centred on disposable furniture.
